Our preschool program is designed to support the developmental achievements of the preschool years.
At Early World Children's School we use a science based curriculum, ScienceStart, to encourage literacy skills, math problem solving skills, social interaction, and the development of attention.
Our curriculum is highly engaging for young children because it focuses on the every day world around them. In the context of simple inquiries, children are introduced to rich vocabulary and higher thinking skills, such as planning, predicting, and drawing inferences.
Each day a science based question provides structure for the day's routine. Within this framework, children explore a center based curriculum. Manipulative centers develop skills that lead to increased hand-eye coordination and support the development of reading, math, and handwriting skills. In math game centers children develop mathematical thinking in a social context.
Our classrooms provide writing, art, block, library, and dramatic play centers with evolving activities that encourage intellectual, physical, or social skills. Additionally, phonemic awareness and writing are woven into the curriculum.
A music class, emphasizing rhythm and creative movement along with singing, is offered twice a week.
